From Johannesburg . . aboard South African Airways
. . we lift off headed for Cape Town . . 1000 miles west
. . Jo'burg is 26 degrees South of the Equator . .
Cape Town is 34 degrees SOUTH . . ( Phoenix is about 33 degrees NORTH of the Equator )
. . meaning there is a similarity in Weather and Vegetation . . with directly opposite Seasons
. . so we are enjoying Summer here in January and February !
Christmas decorations are still up . . and school 'Summer' Vacation ended
